In the Second term, Rowville kicked 5 goals Caitlin B (Tinks) opened her account with 2 Goals, with everyone being hard at the contest and clearing the ball well to move into our forward line and capitalize. Nth Ringwood had a few opportunities but weren’t able to convert and our defence held strong.

Nth Ringwood 1. 4. 10

The third quarter saw Rowville kick a further 2 goals with Caitlin T (CT) kicking an awesome goal from outside 50, and Rachael S (Seedoo) adding goals to the score line.

Nth Ringwood 3. 5. 23

The Fourth quarter the ladies added to the score line 5 goals to really stamp their name on the game with Dani B, Kate C, Caitlin B (Tinks) & Brigitte all adding to the definitive win

Rowville 14. 8. 92
Nth Ringwood 4. 6. 30

With many players making their debut for Rowville – Caitlin T (CT) midfielder, Shae D (Slim) giving run off the half back through the centre, Alison W (Cap) stood up in the Ruck giving us great taps from the Centre against bigger bodied opponents, Logan was all over the ground and did a number on #40 from Nth Ringwood denying her the ball, Jessica B in the back line, Caitlin B (Tinks) started in the mid and moved into the forward to give us the step up in goals (4). Jade (Wisey) also debut after returning from VFLW with Hawthorn and had immediate impact on the game creating good movement through the middle. Brigitte (1) was sensational on the half forward giving good ball movement and great attack. Simone also debuting with more marking interceptions in the backline than I could count today, while Eliana (Curnow) also had run and carry through the centre with some awesome tackles and intercepts to create good forward motion to capitalize on.

Overall, it was a great first hit out, with a few players still to debut due to injury. Our Debut Coach Leeann Gill (Gilly) was also sidelined due to Covid (the gift that just keeps giving), Cailean (Fish) new first time dad with little sleep & Cat, who now has itchy feet and is tipped to pull on the boots at some stage, both stepped up to Coach with texting guidance from Gilly to see us start the season 1 for 1.

Thanks to all the volunteers who stepped up in various ways, Goal Umpire, Water Carriers, Umpire Escorts, and our awesome Trainers (Lynn & David)
